Four practical steps for ceramic tile care
Ceramic tile care starts with knowing the floor and using the product recommended for it. Grout, sealers and adjacent materials also affect the cleaning plan.
1. Identify the surface
The floor manufacturer’s care instructions are the starting point. Ceramic tile, natural stone and treated grout can require different care. A product suited to one surface may be wrong for another.
2. Follow the product directions
Use the recommended cleaner and dilution. More product can leave residue, and a stronger product is not automatically a better choice. Do not substitute a glass-cleaner or homemade recipe without checking suitability.
3. Review persistent haze or sticky areas
Previous products and treatments help explain what needs assessment. The sticky-floor guide covers material-specific care and residue.
4. Get the cleaning scope assessed
We review the tile, grout, dimensions and condition before quoting. Perfection Carpet Cleaners’ tile/grout service is $85 per room up to 200 square feet; optional sealer is $50 per room, with a general $285 minimum per job. See tile and grout cleaning.
